Whenever holidays roll around people ask for my advice on how to survive. They know that the temptation will get real once they are surrounded by family, friends and good food. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the holidays without destroying your progress. The first thing you could do is eat well until the holiday party then enjoy a good meal with your family and friends as your cheat meal. Remember portion control! The second thing you could do is eat only veggies and protein when you’re at a holiday party. That may sound hard but it’s not. What I do some times is look at the person eating the food. This may sound a little rude but it helps me to stay focused. You may see Aunt So & So eating homemade peach cobbler with ice cream after her second plate of fried goodness but is Aunt So & So healthy? Is Aunt So & So overweight? Does she have diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes and/or high cholesterol? I’m going to always see past the good time. What’s really going on right now? The third thing you could do is throw your own shindig! I am the type of person that enjoys people for who they are. I never want to change someone..I want to experience them. This is going to help you be more normal..like on my Experience Life post. Don’t go to someone’s party nagging them on how unhealthy the food is. Don’t be that annoying person. Enjoy them and what they have to offer. If you feel bored or want them to experience your lifestyle throw your own little VIP party for the ones closest to you. You don’t have to serve anything you don’t want and they will get to try something different. I know my family and some of my friends roll their eyes when I come with something vegan but end up singing praises. Jazmine Sullivan style..if you don’t know her get into her! You’re welcome! Anyway..Independence Day is coming up on July 4th and I’m here to help. I wear many hats and one of my fave most chic hats is my role as creative director for a pr boutique. I have decided to help you with your party and to throw my own. I have a cute blue low calorie alcoholic beverage and red low calorie fruit punch. Cute right? Ok..Let’s get started.
