Flush You!

Every time I get on Instagram I see a celebrity or Instagram famous person advertising detox teas. Please don’t order those teas thinking that you’re going to wake up looking like them. Some of them have help from plastic surgeons and others are working their behinds off in the gym. Trust me they aren’t just sitting around drinking tea all day. I personally like detox teas and think that they are useful. Everyone needs a good natural flush from time to time. I believe that you should detox your mind too. We focus on getting toxins out of our body and drinking tea to lose weight. What about getting toxic thoughts out of your mind or toxic people out of your life? What do you do when you feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders? Flush it!

I am no Mother Teresa..I will tell you that right now. I have moments when I have to tell myself “Be nice Tonnisha!” because a shady but funny comment ran through my head while thinking about certain people. I correct myself when I am being negative. Flush it! Recently I felt like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders and was trying to handle everything on my own. That’s how you go crazy FYI..just in case you were wondering. Today I decided to vent to my best friend about it. I felt like she already had too much on her plate so I had been keeping my feelings from her and she told me “Girl we’re eating off the same plate!” She was basically saying no matter what we are going through we will go through it together. She instantly made me feel better. I am well aware that you may not have people that you can talk to or the tools to give negativity a good ole “Flush You!”I am here to help. I am not a counselor but I give good advice and I don’t mind being here for you. You are here for me by supporting my blog and I thank you. You can email me at TonnishaDeonnFitness@Gmail.Com . I also went and did a little searching on the web for positive thinking tips.

10 Tips to Overcome Negative Thoughts: Positive Thinking Made Easy

  1. Meditate or do yoga.

I won’t lie. I haven’t mastered meditating or yoga yet. I keep thinking and never get to that peaceful place that all the books talk about. Whenever I do yoga I’m either thinking “OMG I’m sliding!..I’m sliding!” or “This can’t be a resting position because it hurts!” or I’m too busy celebrating in my head when I do a pose correctly that I forget to be serious…but hey..might work for you and I’ll keep trying.

  1. Smile.

People tell me to smile all of the time. I have a natural “Resting Face” that I’ve had since birth. I won’t fib…smiling works..even if you do it randomly. Who cares if you look like a weirdo?!

  1. Surround yourself with positive people.

I can’t stress this enough!!!

  1. Change the tone of your thoughts from negative to positive.

A negative thought can be insecurity creeping its little rude self into your mind. We all have felt insecure about something at some point. I have seen physical perfection on Instagram that made me second guess my fierceness and I will instantly check myself. “Flush you insecurity! I am hot and so is the Instagram girl. I then choose to use her as motivation and salute her for being beautiful and my inspiration. It’s really easy just check yourself right away don’t let the feeling stay. Don’t feel bad for having the feeling because you are human..it’s okay just correct it.

  1. Don’t play the victim. You create your life-take responsibility.

Now this one is it!! I have some great examples for this tip! You will not disrupt my peace by consciously putting yourself in negative situations and expect me to help you out of them or hear about it. Nope. You will not sit and eat whatever you like then be a Bitter Betty because someone else is walking around looking fabulous. Nope. You will be sad if you think I have the time or the energy to listen to you complain about life all day! Are you serious? Are you doing something to change your situation?..Because I am and no one has time for that negativity….whoa whoa Tonnisha..calm down chill girl..”Flush it..Flush it…woosahhhh

  1. Help someone.

Do it from the heart and watch it grow.

  1. Remember that no one is perfect and let yourself move forward.

  1. Sing.

I can sing and I love to sing. I use to want to be a singer. Sometimes I will sing to see if I still got it..yall know I got it (Wink Wink HaHa) but some of my favorite times by myself is me just playing around with my voice and singing whatever comes to mind. If you are in a bad mood sing “I’m Every Woman” and spin around in circles. (HaHa) So serious! You will laugh at yourself no matter if you sound good or not.

  1. List five things that you are grateful for right now.

When you realize what you have and what others wish they had you become appreciative. Some people simply wish that they had a roof over their head. Now think about it…was your day really that bad?

  1. Read positive quotes.

This one isn’t really my thing but it may work for you so give it a try. I read books, listen to music and/or go to church.

Sooo…how are you feeling?! Do you feel better? I hope so! We often worry about how we look on the outside but not how we feel on the inside. Having Lupus really pissed me off at the beginning. My Rheumatologist always tells me “No Stress!” and I’m like how in the hell am I not suppose to stress about ANYTHING?! I started searching quickly when my flare ups started to affect my appearance. I know that sounds vain but why lie? I started buying yoga mats, drop kicking people out of my life and doing whatever I had to do to make sure I wasn’t putting myself in stressful situations. You don’t have to have a disease to make positive changes in your life. You deserve peace. Drink your detox teas..there’s nothing wrong with that (make sure they are all natural) but make sure you are taking care of your mind too. Your peace of mind and your feelings are important..guard them! Tell all negativity “Flush You!
