I know that you are probably going to have to use the restroom at work and at school a lot. Don’t curse me..I promise it is going to be worth it! Water flushes toxins and carries nutrients to your cells. If you are even 1% dehydrated it can cause a drop in your metabolism. Drink up! How much? How much water you should drink depends on your size, weight, activity level and where you live. The Institute of Medicine determined that men should drink about 13 cups (3 liters) of total beverages a day. Women should drink about 9 cups (2.2 liters) of total beverages a day. Pregnant women should drink about 10 cups (2.3 liters) of fluids daily and women who breast-feed need about 13 cups (3.1 liters ) of fluids a day.
I know you are probably familiar with the recommended eight 8 ounce glasses of water (2 liters) a day. There are so many different opinions so go by what you want. You can choose the popular opinion or the opinion of The Institute of Medicine. Something is better than nothing..I’m just happy to have you as our new H2O Hottie! Please comment and join our Facebook group. I am super excited to do The Total Water Makeover with you!
I know that water may be boring to some so below is a flavored water recipe that taste like a Sangria (You’re welcome)
- 1 large pitcher of water
- 10-12 chopped mint leaves
- 1 cup blueberries (frozen or fresh)
- 2 sliced lemons
- 1 sliced peach or nectarine
Throw everything together in a pitcher and let it steep over night.
