The Total Water Makeover!

Do you remember when I went to Afrocari dance class? Your girl was killing it! Late people here you go TDF Digest: Afrocari Dance Class! Enjoy!  So anyway, a couple of weeks ago I got a call from the Afrocari creator Uchenna about working together. She barely had to say anything because I was game right away. Uchenna is super cool and talented and I’m so excited to unite with her! We came up with the perfect challenge…The Total Water Makeover! The Total Water Makeover starts March 1, 2017 and ends March 30, 2017. We need all of our H2O Hotties to shout from their rooftops that they are doing our challenge. I know that you are probably going to have to use the restroom at work and at school a lot. Don’t curse me..I promise it is going to be worth it! Water flushes toxins and carries nutrients to your cells. If you are even 1% dehydrated it can cause a drop in your metabolism. Drink up! How much? How much water you should drink depends on your size, weight, activity level and where you live. The Institute of Medicine determined that men should drink about 13 cups (3 liters) of total beverages a day. Women should drink about 9 cups (2.2 liters) of total beverages a day. Pregnant women should drink about 10 cups (2.3 liters) of fluids daily and women who breast-feed need about 13 cups (3.1 liters ) of fluids a day.

I know you are probably familiar with the recommended eight 8 ounce glasses of water (2 liters) a day. There are so many different opinions so go by what you want. You can choose the popular opinion or the opinion of The Institute of Medicine. Something is better than nothing..I’m just happy to have you as our new H2O Hottie! I know that water may be boring to some so below is a flavored water recipe that taste like a Sangria (You’re welcome)

  • 1 large pitcher of water
  • 10-12 chopped mint leaves
  • 1 cup blueberries (frozen or fresh)
  • 2 sliced lemons
  • 1 sliced peach or nectarine

Throw everything together in a pitcher and let it steep over night.
