All Natural Please!

I don’t know what happened when I turned 26. It was like the second my birthday hit I started to fall apart. The next thing I knew I had allergy problems. When the seasons change I end up looking like one of the people off the Claritin commercials…but much more dramatic. I will act like I belong on the commercials about depression. The thing is that I will lie on the couch and act as if the world is ending but I rarely take medicine to make it better. I hate taking medicine. I much rather fight allergies and illnesses by using natural remedies.  The natural way of doing anything usually takes longer (weight loss) but it’s worth it.

I make sure that I eat healthy and exercise to avoid getting sick but it happens to the best of us. The first thing I do when I get sick is drink orange juice and exercise to sweat it out. That’s step one. If step one doesn’t work I go in my bag of natural tricks.

  1. Eat Healthy/Exercise

Fast food won’t give you the nutrients or strength that you need to get better. Put the bag of chips down and pick up some broccoli!

  1. Drink Water

Stay hydrated. Drink ½ of your body weight in ounces of water. Leave the alcoholic beverages alone. You’ll survive.

  1. Take Your Vitamins

Make sure you buy a high potency multivitamin. You will also need vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E.

  1. Drink Hot Tea

Green and Chamomile tea boost your immune system. Peppermint tea will help with congestion.

Side note: The next two tips aren’t from me. I have never used a Neti Pot or have had acupuncture performed on me. I have heard of Neti Pots and acupuncture and would love to give them a try.

  1. Neti Pots

Neti Pots are basically small pots with saltwater in them that you put up your nose. Neti Pots are similar to nasal spray.

  1. Acupuncture

Acupuncture is known to leave people relaxed and relieved from nasal congestion. It is used to desensitize people to plants and pollen and supports the immune system. I can’t wait to try this!
