TDF Digest: Dancing Queen!

I went ballroom dancing! I had such an amazing time. I bought dance lessons for my mom and I to get her active and to spend quality time. We learned how to do the waltz, salsa and swing dance. We learned a fourth dance but for the life of me I can’t remember it. My favorite dances were obviously the ones that I remembered but I really enjoyed the salsa and swing dance. I loved twirling around the room. I was super excited that my mom enjoyed herself. I wanted to show her that being fit doesn’t mean that you have to spend all of your time in the gym or doing physical activities that make you miserable.

Ballroom dancing will brighten your day. You guys know that I believe in positive energy and dance class is packed with it. Dancing is a mental escape. Everyone there dances and has a good time totally unbothered by anything that happened pre-dance class. Ballroom dancing helps us burn fat, tone muscles, and gain flexibility.

I am happy to say that my mom and I will be returning to class. We will make it our special girl’s time and enjoy each other’s company. I encourage you to take dance classes! If you feel intimidated bring your partner, a family member, or friend. Trust me, you’ll have a great time…we did!
