I know that I said that I was going to write about soy but I will save that for next time. Writing about soy seems silly with what’s on my mind. Yesterday I had a talk with a special someone who opened up to me about having an eating disorder. I was talking about how I am super hard on myself and found out that I’m not the only one. I do not have an eating disorder but I can relate to feeling like perfection is the only answer. Eating disorders are not the only things that people are dealing with. There are people that are depressed, suffer from anxiety and/or suicidal thoughts.  There are many other mental illnesses that deserve to be taken seriously. I know that this sounds corny but we all need to be nice. So many people are suffering and your kindness could mean the world to them. We all live on social media where we tear each other down as if we have perfect lives. If we believed everything on social media we would think that everyone is rich, skinny, and happy. It’s not true and the terrible thing about it is that the same posers judge the people that choose to display their imperfections. We have to be kind to each other. You never know what someone is going through. Make your ego or insecurities have a seat and show that you are human. If being transparent isn’t an option then just be quiet. Think about how you would feel if someone took their life because you just had to comment on the quality of their shoes or think about someone judging your child because of their appearance. We’ll take it back to kindergarten “If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.”

If you are suffering from a mental illness please do not be ashamed. It is okay. We all have our different battles this is just yours. You can make it out of the storm. I want you to know that you are important and that you matter. If you need me contact me and if anything vent and I promise to respond. Life is hard but you deserve a full and happy life. There is nothing wrong with getting help please don’t ignore the problem and hold it in. Know that you are perfect just the way you are and if there is something that you want to improve about yourself take it one step at a time. All that I ask from you is that you please get help if it gets too hard to bear..please reach out to someone (preferably a professional but anyone is better than holding it in..minus the Negative Nancy’s)
